Why won't my video load?

Using a computer

If you are seeing an unplayable black box, it is possible that your web browser is out-of-date. To resolve this, navigate to browser-update.org and follow the instructions to either update your existing browser or download a new one. Updating and downloading web browsers is free.

Using an iOS device (e.g. iPhone)

If the video is not playing when you click on the black box, then it means you need to update your iOS device. This is quick, free and easy to do.

From the home screen go to "Settings" > "General" > "Software Update" and click to install the latest iOS.

When you log back in, all your details will have been saved.

Using an Android device (e.g. Samsung Galaxy)

If the video is not playing when you click on the black box, then it means you need to update your Android device. This is quick, free and easy to do.

Navigate to the Setting menu of your device. On most Android devices this can be done via the app menu or notification bar. Typically the Setting app will have a cog or spanner logo. Scroll down the Settings menu and click on "About Phone" or "About Tablet". If you have a tabbed settings menu this will appear in the "General" section. The menu can vary from device to device but click the "Software Update" or similar button. This section of the menu will also detail which version of Android your device is running.

Your device will now search for an available update. If you are taken to another menu, select the "Software update check" button or similar. If an update is available for your device then you will be asked whether you wish to install it. If you select "Yes" then the system will download and install the new software and reboot.

When you log back in, all your details will have been saved.

Is my personal information secure?

The personal information that is requested for the Bourne Ready process has always been gathered by Bourne Group Ltd. The same information was previously requested by the Site Team, filled out on paper forms, photocopied and stored in the site office.

Now all communications, transmissions and transfers of sensitive data are encrypted over SSL (HTTPS) much in the same way credit card data is by Amazon. Virtual access to the enterprise servers that store this data is via SSH keys. These servers are mirrored in 5 locations to ensure against any conceivable downtime eventuality and protect against targeted attacks.

The servers and datacenters used all meet ISO 27001:2013 - the latest international standard that describes best practice for an information security management system. Each site is staffed 24/7/365 with onsite security to protect against unauthorised access. Each site has security cameras that monitor both the facility premises as well as each area of the datacenter internally. There are biometric readers for access as well as at least two-factor authentication to gain access to the building. Each facility is unmarked so as not to draw any additional attention from the outside and adheres to strict local and federal government standards.

There are tiered levels of Bourne Group Ltd Admins to ensure that only relevant information is available for verification purposes. You can request for your data to be removed from the database at any point.

What is my personal email address used for?

Once you complete the Bourne Ready process, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address supplied. We will also send an email to remind you to renew your Bourne Ready account 28 days before it expires, and on the day of expiry.

Why can't I skip the video?

It is important that you pay attention to all of the information covered in your Health, Safety & Environment video. You will be asked questions at the end to ensure you have understood the safety standards set on Bourne Group Ltd sites.

What is Bourne Ready?

Bourne Ready is an online induction system. It replaces the on-site induction process, ensuring you are ready for a fast and safe start on site.

To work on any Bourne Group Ltd site you are required to provide a minimum set of information about yourself as well as demonstrate that you are capable of doing your job well and to the utmost degree of safety.

Bourne Ready is a Pre Enrolment system. Pre Enrolment is an award-winning custom software service; each bespoke system is tailor-made for a construction contractor. Unlike online induction system 'products', the Pre Enrolment service provides a contractor with their own system, instead of something generic and used by others. This service-led approach provides a plethora of features and benefits to not only manage, but continuously iterate and evolve a system to meet a construction contractor's exacting needs and requirements, present and future. In addition to delivering the best online induction systems, induction videos can also be created through the Pre Enrolment service.

The Pre Enrolment service was first developed by Colonel Duck and has an established reputation; for more than 10 years, the construction industry has relied on the service to deliver health and safety online inductions and digitalise on-site processes.
